The Leader Mill – Because it's Tuesday
At The Leader Mill, we know that life is hard. The average guy can barely make ends meet and most bosses are unreasonable and demanding. And then there’s the traffic after work, only to get home to an overwhelmed wife with the kids and their schoolwork, and a job and a boss of her own. And oh, did we mention the water heater’s acting up on the heels of replacing the washer and dryer? And that’s on top of the new car payment because the old car died over the Summer.
And that only describes Tuesday. But we all know it’s a description of most days in the real world of real life. And most young men are woefully unprepared for Tuesdays.
So we created The Leader Mill: a non-profit residence, work, training, and service program that equips young men for courageous and effective manhood.
The Milling Process
We take six young men and immerse them in an intense and strategically designed program of tactical stress, discipline, deprivation, and instruction in real life settings. They live together; work together; shop, cook, and clean together; share adventures and learn and grow together.
The Grinding:
- Pressure – intentionally applied pressure mimicking the pressures of real life
- Discipline – instruction and accountability in a wide range of life, interpersonal, and spiritual skills and mindsets
- Mentorship – instruction and guidance from men and women in the community in all manner of life skills and knowledge
- Application – “on the go” and “in real life” training and usage of all skills, knowledge, and wisdom throughout the immersive and experiential program
- Accountability – every step of the way, Cadets are held accountable by each other and the team of supporters surrounding them
We do all this in close cooperation and partnership with local churches and their members as well as local businesses and other organizations.
Life's a Grind, Get Grounded
The long-term vision of The Leader Mill is to reunite the head, heart, and hands of Christian men by giving them a comprehensive vision of Biblical manhood combined with the practical experiences necessary for real confidence. We will also empower the local Church to cultivate inter-generational strategies pragmatically demonstrating the Gospel by connecting members to these young men. The end result will be true, Biblical community in action.

LEADER MILL BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Dan McAnally
President
Husband, father, grandfather and friend, Dan took the adventurous route to manhood by learning from made mistakes (most of them his own!) and the acquisition of wisdom and knowledge from others who have acquired much virtue in their own journeys. The Leader Mill is an opportunity for other young men to get a head start on manhood in ways that aren't necessarily available to all men; they weren't for Dan in his youth and younger man days. Although he can be demanding, Dan is a "brother in the trenches" supporter of young men all around him. His vast and wide-ranging experiences make him a capable contributor to The Leader Mill training program. It's precisely his continued pursuit of growing in Christ that makes him a supportive partner in the Christian growth of other young men.
Lance Finley
Vice President
Lance is a husband of 32 years, father of 4 and is a new grandfather. He is a deacon ahead of men’s ministry at his church in Antioch, TN. Raised in Detroit with expectations to be a third generation mechanical engineer, he diverged toward a more creative path after achieving a degree in marketing.
Lance was a graphic artist until starting Firehouse Design Inc, a digital marketing agency, in 2003. Since then he has built websites for country music artists e.g. Shania Twain and George Strait and businesses across various industries.
Lance puts the “martial” in artist; having achieved a black belt in kung fu while in Asia, a 5th degree in Wado Ryu Karate, passed FBI marksmanship qualifiers and now trains in boxing.
