The Worker

At The Leader Mill (TLM), our Cadets will be engaged in a full-time, blue-collar vocational trade as hands-on apprentices learning basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.  A strong work ethic is vital for solid leadership and TLM training emphasizes this as a lifelong imperative.

Mentors with strong backgrounds in the workforce possess, sometimes with little awareness, critical wisdom in how to be a useful, productive, and exemplary worker that brings stability and value to every task they are given.  They have learned that pursuing responsibility leads to opportunities for growth which, in turn leads to advancement.  Great leaders see advancement as further opportunity to assume even more responsibility.  In doing so, they hope to experience the intangible rewards that come from success as well as the customary material rewards associated with great achievement.

TLM is looking for Mentors who understand that leadership is crucial in all endeavors, and who believe that they can impart a profound understanding to willing and submissive Cadets who are dedicated to going the extra mile in order to receive the rewards and respect that come from sacrifice and dedication.

If you identify with these traits, and have the heart of a teacher, we would like to talk to you about your involvement in TLM Mentoring.  All Mentors work in teams of no fewer than 3, with one Mentor serving as the Mentor Director and other Mentors serving as Assistant Mentors.  Cadets are matched in pairs with a Mentor(s) for each encounter.  Most encounters last no more than 4 hours and are most often conducted on Friday evenings and Saturdays.
