At The Leader Mill (TLM), we believe that being a Gentleman is both an art and a science. Great leaders educate themselves in the essential characteristics that distinguish a run-of-the-mill male from a Gentleman and practice the necessary skill unto mastery. Perhaps the best way to honor women is to behave like a gentleman.
TLM Cadets will be trained to live their lives just a little bit in the future so that they can anticipate the needs of others and fulfill them without great fanfare. They will express consideration for others by controlling his body and exercising discretion. They will be taught not to be bothered if other don’t appreciate their kind gestures. Cadets are encouraged to resolve differences with diplomacy, if possible. Toward those who insist on malevolence, they will defend what’s honorable with force, if necessary.
A TLM Cadet will learn to assess people as individuals over and above their group memberships, and to make judgements about another’s conduct instead of their immutable characteristics. They will speak plainly, honestly, and politely, and expect the same in return from others. They will strive to not only be peacekeepers but peacemakers.
TLM is looking for Mentors who demonstrate these traits and care articulate their appreciation for these mannerisms like a coach. If this sounds like you, TLM would like to talk to you about the contributions you can make in the lives of our Cadets. Because of the ongoing nature of these disciplines, Gentlemen Mentors may be required to volunteer more than 4 hours over the course of a year. Persistent accountability over Cadets is a vital necessity in developing good habits.
