The Theologian

At The Leader Mill (TLM), our Cadets will learn to become not only hearers but doers of The Word.  In order to excel in this endeavor, they will necessarily need to become lifelong students of The Word.  An important element in understanding the truth one can find in Scripture is the ability to pursue understanding through time-honored disciplines.  Rather than teach Cadets “what” to believe about the Bible, TLM will concentrate on teaching Cadets “how” to approach the Bible and receive revelation from its contents as well as gain insights from the Patristic Fathers of the Faith.

TLM Cadets will be challenged to approach Scripture with discipline and intentionality.  They will look at the Old Testament in an overview with treatment of its context within World History.  The essential elements of the Old Testament that form a bridge to the New Testament will be emphasized in order to serve as proper predicate to their New Testament study.

Additionally, Cadets will be introduced to important Classical Christian Literature and develop skills to comprehend the insights contained within as well as the ability to articulate their understanding.  They will also become acquainted with the necessary skill of apologetics and learn to give reasons for their faith.

If you identify with these traits, and have the heart of a teacher, we would like to talk to you about your involvement in TLM Mentoring.  All Mentors of Theology will offer their contributions on Thursdays and will commit to proper preparation for each encounter including the arrangement of targeted homework.  Further, they will commit to the necessary follow-up such as grading assignments and exams in a timely manner.  They are also encouraged to extend themselves within reason to subsequent inquires from Cadets.  Mentors of Theology will work closely with the Dean of Theology who is responsible for the overall course content and schedule. Most encounters last no more than 4 hours.
